which builds shared libraries _just fine_. The problem I was having
with this before was likely caused by Slackware using newer autoconf/
automake/libtool versions than were used in the ImageMagick sources.
ImageMagick-6.0.2 uses the latest versions of these, *and* has a lot
of other improvements over the 5.5.x series.
