Solo pochi giorni fà aveva fatto la sua comparsa nel ramo testing (vedi [[news:2015:11:16:una-quasi-beta-per-slackware-14.2]]) ed oggi **eudev** entra ufficialmente in Slackware-current andando a sostituire **udev** come manager dei dispositivi.

Pat ci fa sapere che ...

Infatti la versione **udev** la (182) utilizzata fino a ieri da Slackware risale a marzo 2012 e non è il solo motivo che ha spinto Pat ad adottare **eudev**. Poco dopo quella release, **udev** è parte di **systemd** . Grazie agli sviluppatori di Gentoo che non sono rimasti a guardare, si è deciso di creare un "fork" di udev epurandolo dal codice di **systemd**. Da questa pulizia è nato **eudev** che ora è il degno sostituto di udev in Slackware ed in altre disto Linux che non hanno adottato **systemd"**come gestore di **init**.

Nell'ultimo aggiornamento Pat ha ricompilato ed aggiornato anche diversi pacchetti tra cui:

  * X.org
  * GCC
  * {Network,Modem}Manager
  * ConsokeKit2
  * Driver video (tra cui Intel e ATI)
  * KDELibs
  * Akonadi
  * PHP 5.6.15
  * nmap 7.0
  * ... and more

Come per gli altri aggiornamenti __leggiamo attentamente il ChangeLog__ e sopratutto seguiamo le indicazioni di Pat per la rimozione di ''udev'' e la successiva installazione di ''eudev'' (vedi sopra). Per il resto ''slackpkg'' ci può dare una mano in questo compito così delicato:

  # slackpkg update
  # slackpkg install-new
  # slackpkg upgrade-all
